The Coalition Against Vulnerable Adult Abuse (CAVAA) has been working since 2002 to develop a working agreement between primary agencies likely to become involved with identifying and referring possible cases of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable adults (18 and older) in Shiawassee County.
This task force is comprised of agency staff and community representatives concerned about vulnerable adults in our county. Our protocol manual addresses the abuse, neglect and exploitation of seniors and other vulnerable adults in the community and protection of their rights to be free from these abuses through a cooperative approach that emphasizes dignity, respect, safety and independence.
